 | Mega City Comics, was established in 1981, initially as a mail-order business, supplying comics, graphic novels, and collecting supplies.
After 6 years of mail-order and trading through the comic marts, we opened our shop in Camden Town in 1987.
Our aim was, and still is, to provide one of the most comprehensive ranges of comics and graphic novels in the UK, backed up with helpful, knowledgeable and friendly service.
Over the years, we have hosted signings and events with such luminaries as Alan Moore, Jamie Hewlett, Pat Mills, Simon Bisley, Gilbert Shelton & Matt Wagner.
In 2010 we were proud to be awarded a KING OF CAMDEN award, for excellence in local retailing. |

Martin Kravetz founded the business in 1981, whilst still at University, and has been at the forefront of its day-to-day operations ever since.
The business now employs a dedicated team of 5, who help to maintain an extremley high level of customer service, whilst offering friendly, helpful and knowledgeable advice to both hardened readers and collectors, and those new to the field.
The team are currently led by Ben - store manager by day, musician and dj by night, Ben keeps us running on schedule. |  |

 | Sally-Ann is our assistant manager, and has been drawing her own comics and stuff for ages, and now she's flogging the stuff too! Happy days!
Maggie - is our comics boffin (she has a Phd in the works of Alan Moore, and lectures when not at the shop), runs the standing order department, and is more then happy to recommend an Indie or two.
Deborah (pronounced Devorah) - occasionally pops in to help out, when she is not knee deep in her studies.
Will and Charlie are the new kids on the block, and are settling in nicely. Pop by, say hello, and make them feel at home. |

Collections boughtWe do buy comics, but please bear in mind that pretty much most of what we buy comes in at 10p-20p each. We are mainly looking for mainstream, long running superhero titles (Spiderman, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Batman), and will buy in bulk. There is no need to make a full list, you just need to email across an idea of what you have (eg 50 1980's hulks in region 200-300, 100 Spiderman etc).
Please note that we are not really looking for any X-titles (X-Factor, X-Men, Excalibur etc), Vertigo titles, incomplete mini-series, most Indies (Image, Valiant, Malibu etc), 2000AD, or non mainstream titles (eg Arak, Jemm etc) . We will take these as part of a main collection (ie we will take titles we don't want, if they form the smallest part of a collection we DO want), but only for a few pence each, and not on their own.
If you are happy with these sort of prices, we will generally take THE LOT, and pay immediate CASH! |
