About Us

The owner of this web site is Mega-City Comics, a privately run business. We have been supplying comics by mail since 1981, and have been prominent advertisers in both comic publications, and mainstream magazines throughout this time. Our shop in Camden Town was opened in 1987, and provides personal callers with one of the most comprehensive ranges of comics and graphic novels in the UK. We are open 7 days a week, including most Bank Holidays, so you have no excuse not to pay us a visit!
Our web site was launched Dec 2002, and we have rapidly grown to be one of the UK's largest comic e-tailers

Please note that the terms and conditions listed here apply to purchases made online, via our website. The same terms DO NOT apply to sales made face-to-face in our shop in Camden Town, where all sales are final.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on the 'Add To Cart' button for any items that you wish to buy. To check the status of your shopping cart at any time, simply click 'View Cart'. You are able to change or cancel your order at any time prior to checking out (clicking 'View Cart' will allow you to remove items from your shopping cart). If you wish to remove items and you have already reached the checkout stage, you will need to click 'Cancel' to stop the checkout process, then 'View Cart' to change your order.

After you have finished making your selections, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for your contact and payment details to complete the order. You will need a valid credit card to complete your purchase, or you can pay by PayPal

We accept Visa, Visa Debit (Delta), Mastercard and Maestro Domestic.
We do not accept Maestro International.

We can only accept orders from the cardholder named on the card. Credit cards are subjected to security checks for your and our protection. To help facilitate these checks, you must provide your address EXACTLY as it appears on your credit card statements. You are given the option at checkout to provide a different address for delivery if you wish to do so. All price are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. When ordering from overseas, you card will be charged in your local currency, converted from Sterling at the prevailing exchange rate set by your local bank or credit card company. Prices shown on the website are for online purchases only. The same products may be on sale in our shop in Camden at a different price than shown on the website. Orders for some speciality items (eg high value collectables or limited edition hardcovers) may require an advance payment as deposit, which will be advised once we have received your order. !!<OVERSEAS ORDERS
At present, we only process credit card orders from and shipping to the UK and Western Europe, and ONLY to these countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom

If your country is NOT in the above list, then I am afraid that we are unable to help you at this time.

Please note that we cannot accept orders from one country to deliver to a different country.

Larger orders (or repeat small orders) may require additional security checks before we will proceed. We may request proof of cardholders address, in the form of a copy of a recent credit card statement. To help protect our business from fraud, we may elect to reject orders where requested proof is not forthcoming.

Due to high shipping costs, we are unable to accept orders for supplies (comic bags, boards and boxes) from outside of mainland UK (including Eire and the Channel Islands).


When you place an order to purchase a product from megacitycomics.co.uk, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product, and does not form a contract until we agree to supply you with the goods, and take full payment (payment may not taken at the time you complete the checkout process. Orders for some 'special order' items - as indicated on our site - may require pre-payment before they are ordered in from our suppliers).

We reserve the right to limit or cancel orders, especially when the same customer places an order for multiple copies of the same item. Whilst orders will usually be dealt with on a first come first basis, where we feel multiple copy orders are being placed purely for speculation, or immediate re-sale, we reserve the right to fill all 'non-speculator" orders ahead of any deemed to be for speculation. Mega-City resreves final judgement on what it deems to be a "specualtor order".

When your order has been completed (or when parts of your order have been completed where we have decided to split your order to aid faster despatch), and payment has been taken, we will send you a confirmation e-mail confirming that your goods have been despatched. This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by megacitycomics.co.uk of your offer to buy goods from us, and will be deemed for all purposes to have been effectively communicated to you at the time we sent that e-mail to you (whether or not you receive that e-mail).

Shipping And Handling

Postage charges are shown at the checkout stage, before any payment is taken. To see postage charges displayed in your shopping cart, go to the checkout, enter your name and address details, and click next. Your postage charges will now be shown. To continue shopping, simply scroll down and click on cancel/continue shopping. No payments are taken at this stage of the checkout process.

Orders containing comic bags/boards will most likley attract the top level postage charge due to their weight. Please bear this in mind before ordering small quantities of bags to avoid any unpleasant surprises over the shipping costs!

If your order includes vatable goods, the shipping charge will also attract an additional VAT charge of 20%. There is currently no VAT on books and comics, but most other products (collector bags, boards & boxes, t-shirts, gifts and posters) are vatable (prices shown for the goods are inclusive of VAT).

Orders containing ADVANCE ORDER or PRE-ORDER items, where not all items have been released at time of order, will be shipped out approximately every two weeks, with all goods that have come into stock since the last mailing. Postage will be charged per parcel (not per order), although we will always try to keep your postage charges as low as we can, by merging multiple orders, and adjusting postage charges down where feasible. If you would prefer a monthly mail out instead (to save on postage), please let us know.


Certain areas of the UK are hard to reach, and are termed 'Remote Regions' by most delivery companies.
Remote Regions include the following postcodes: IM, KW, AB10 to AB16, AB21 to AB25, AB30 to AB39, AB41 to AB45, AB51 to AB56, BT1 to BT49, BT51 to BT58, BT60 to BT71, BT74 to BT82, BT92 to BT94, DD5, DD7 to DD11, EH43 to EH45, FK8, FK16 to FK21, IV1 to IV20, IV25, IV30 to IV32, IV36, IV63, KA4, KA6, KA16 to KA19, KW1 to KW3, KW5 to KW10, KW12, KW14, ML8 to ML12, PA23 to PA38, PA80, PH1 to PH13, PH15 to PH26, PH30 to PH35, PH49, PH50, SY15 to SY25, TD2 to TD11, TD13, TD14.

If delivery is to one of these postcodes, we are unable to accurately calculate postage costs at the checkout, and any charge shown will be provisonal at best. We will advise you of the actual delivery charge payable, once we have pulled your order, and you will then have the option of whether or not to proceed.
The most marked affect on delivery charges to remote regions, will be low cost, heavy items, such as bags, boards, and boxes.


For overseas orders, the postage charges shown at checkout are a best estimate. In most cases these are correct, but we reserve the right to update these when the final cost of shipping has been calculated. We will email you first, if the postage payable is greater than that estimated at checkout.

Insurance is compulsory on all orders over £20 shipping outside of mainland UK
Customers who select uninsured mail (regular airrmail) do so at their own risk.
MegaCity does not accept responsibility for loss or damage of parcels that are sent overseas by uninsured mail.

This is mainly due to the postage charges which would be excessive in relation to the cost of the goods.
We can still supply Mylar and Mylite bags to destinations outside of the UK, as these have a higher cost to postage relationship.

Claims for non-delivery must be made within 7 days of receipt of your 'order shipped' email notification.
Before contacting us about a missing parcel, please ensure that the delivery service has not attempted delivery whilst you were out, and left you an 'attempted delivery' card. If you receive an 'attempted delivery' (or 'we called while you were out...') type card, you should contact the delivery company without delay, to arrange redelivery.
Please note that our initial postage charges cover the first delivery attempt only, to the address provided to us at checkout. Any additional charges payable for the redelivery or redirection of a package requested by the customer, are the sole responsibility of the customer. If you contact our delivery agents directly and request a redelivery or redirection, and this results in us being billed additional postage charges, we reserve the right to pass these additional charges on to you at cost, and charge your credit card accordingly. Standard redirection charge is currently £6.
If you refuse a delivery (or fail to collect an undelivered item where held for you at a Parcelforce or Royal Mail depot), and your parcel is returned to us, we reserve the right to charge you at cost, for any additional postage costs incurred. Once a parcel has been mailed out to you, a postage charge will have been made, and cannot be refunded. Any returns (excluding due to damage) will be refunded for the goods value only.

It is the customers responsibility to check that the delivery details provided when placing an order are correct and accurate.
Our contract for delivery will be deemed as completed on delivery to the address provided by the customer.
We cannot accept responsibilty if a parcel is delivered to the wrong address, if this is the address that you provided us with.
We cannot guarantee to deliver a parcel into the hands of a specific person, only to a specific address.
It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the address they provide is a safe and secure place to receive their parcel. We do not recommend delivery to addresses with communal or public access.
If you do not receive a card, or fail to contact DHL, you will probably be contacted by DELIVER PLUS (our shipping agents) to try and arrange a re-delivery.
They will be happy to arrange a re-delivery to the original shipping address with you. Any changes to the orginal delivery address (eg delivery to a new address) will incur additional charges (minimum £6), which will be charged to your credit card.

Claims for damage to any items contained in your order, or any shortage, must be made within 3 days of receipt of order, and must be made in writing, by email or post.

Delivery Schedule

'In stock' orders are usually processed within 48 hours. Shipping then takes an additional 2-3 working days. Due to the wide variety of titles we offer, and the nature of the supply chain that American comics are subject to (the vast majority of titles are American imports, and are available from just one exclusive distributor), we cannot guarantee that all books will be available from stock. We strive to maintain accurate information, but a listing within the online catalogue does not indicate that the item is in stock, simply that we offer it for sale. Sometimes the stock status may still show as IN STOCK when goods are not physically in hand, but are on route from a supplier. To allow for restocking of any items which may be temporarily out of stock, we ask that you allow up to 14 days for delivery. Your orders are important to us, and we will always try to get your goods to you as quickly as we can, but we cannot and do not guarantee delivery by a specific date. If the order is needed by a specific date, please state this in the 'special delivery instructions' box and we will try to let you know if we cannot meet your deadline (please note that orders are processed in the order that they are received, and asking for a specific delivery date will not jump you to the head of the queue).

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you for up to 28 days after the date you placed your order. If you do not want the item(s) held on back order, you simply need to contact us as soon as you receive your confirmation email. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.

Credit Card Security

All credit card payments are processed by PayPal through a100% PCI DSS compliant payment gateway. Your card details are not retained or stored by megacitycomics.co.uk.

All credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption, and their systems are fully compliant with the requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Your payment details are not stored on megacitycomics servers, and at no time do we have access to your credit card information.

Privacy Policy

Mega City Comics does not disclose buyers' information to third parties.
Any information we collect (including answers to survey questions) are purely for our internal use, and are not disclosed to third parties.
Cookies are small text files used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option.
Your credit card details are NOT stored in any cookies.

Returns Policy

If you are unhappy with your purchase, we are happy to offer a 7 day satisfaction guarantee. Please contact us by email first, before returning any merchandise, stating your name, order number, contact details (you must provide a landline number, even if you also wish to provide a mobile), and brief description of the problem. We will be happy to replace faulty goods. We will exchange non-faulty goods within 7 days, providing they are returned in perfect and unopened condition. You will be liable for the cost of postage and re-shipping if you wish to exchange or return non-faulty goods. This returns policy only applies to purchases made online, and not to purchases made in person at the shop. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Certain heavy items, such as comic bags and boxes, are quoted at a price inclusive of postage to inland UK. Returns of such items will be refunded at the net price of the goods, excluding the postage charge.

If you wish us to arrange collection of unwanted goods, the cost of collection will be deducted from any refund that we make against the returned goods. Please note that collection charges may be higher than the original outgoing postage charges. Please contact us if you require a quote.

The Distance Selling Regulations give you the right to cancel your order or reject goods at any time, up to 14 days after you receive your goods. You may exercise these rights by following the instructions given above.
You must take care of the goods whilst they are in your possession and ensure that when they are kept in pristine condition. Please note that as stated above, goods must be returned in their original unopened and perfect condition, that any refund will be for the value of goods only (excluding postage), and that you are required to return the goods to us at your own expense, within 14 days of receipt. Your card will be credited no later than 14 days AFTER we receive the goods back. It is your responsibility to see that the goods arrive back here safely.

Please note that our returns policy does not apply to SPECIAL ORDERS. These are goods which are not held as part of our stock, and are ordered in at a customers request. Special Orders are clearly marked on the site. We are unable to cancel or return these goods to our suppliers, so are unable to accept cancellation once an order has been placed. Payment may be taken BEFORE we place the order with our suppliers. By placing an order with us for these items you agree to these terms.

The Distance Selling Regulations excludes items specially ordered for a customer, and therefore does not offer the same rights to return or cancel as regular stock items.
