John Constantine, Hellblazer - man of mystery, master magician, total bastard. Constantine is a working-class mage, a thief, a con-artist, former punk, and savior of the known universe. He has no superpowers, only a sharp wit, a little bit of magic, and a reputation Alister Crowley would envy. First appearing as a background character in 1985 in Alan Moore's SWAMP THING, he gained his own series in 1987, and the title remains one of the mainstays of DC's Vertigo line. |
