Garth Ennis is comic writer from Northern Ireland, and is perhaps best known for the DC/Vertigo series Preacher, which he co-created with artist Steve Dillon. His work is characterised by extreme violence, black humour and profanity, but also by an interest in male friendship and an amused disdain for organised religion. He continues to be at the forefront of pushing the envelope of comics.
